Terms of Service

Last updated: July 23, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of heybuddy, a personal CRM that helps you maintain professional relationships (the "Services"), operated at hey-buddy.io. By creating an account or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Services. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@hey-buddy.io if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

2. What heybuddy does

heybuddy helps you track relationships with your professional contacts: you can log notes and interactions, receive reminders to follow up, and optionally connect Gmail and Google Calendar so heybuddy can detect when you've been in touch with someone and help you draft outreach. AI drafting features are powered by a third-party AI provider (see our Privacy Policy for details). You are responsible for reviewing anything heybuddy drafts before sending it — we do not send email on your behalf without your action to do so.

3. Plans, billing, and cancellation

heybuddy is offered on a Free plan and paid Pro ($29/mo) and Power ($49/mo) plans. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis through Stripe, our payment processor — we do not store your card details ourselves. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing; your plan remains active through the end of the current billing period, and we do not provide partial-period refunds except where required by law. We may change plan pricing or features with reasonable advance notice; changes will not apply to a billing period you've already paid for.

4. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the contacts, notes, and other content you enter into heybuddy ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Services for you. You are responsible for having the right to store any information about third parties (such as your professional contacts) that you enter into heybuddy, and for using that information in compliance with applicable law.

If you connect Gmail or Google Calendar, you authorize heybuddy to access the specific data described in our Privacy Policy for as long as the integration remains connected. You can disconnect these integrations at any time from Settings → Connections.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services to send unsolicited bulk email or spam
  • Use the Services to harass, defraud, or deceive any person
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services, other accounts, or the systems they run on
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or use automated means to access the Services beyond normal use of the product
  • Resell or provide the Services to third parties without our consent
  • Upload content that infringes anyone's intellectual property or legal rights

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice, depending on severity.

6. AI-generated content

heybuddy's AI drafting features generate suggested email text and, if you opt in, may reflect patterns learned from your own past sent emails. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, may not match your intent, and should be reviewed before you send it — you are solely responsible for any message you choose to send. We do not guarantee the accuracy, appropriateness, or quality of AI-generated output.

7. Third-party services

The Services rely on third-party providers, including Google (Gmail and Calendar integration), Anthropic (AI drafting), Stripe (payments), and Clerk (authentication). Your use of those integrations may also be subject to those providers' own terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or acts of these third-party services.

8. Intellectual property

heybuddy and its original content, features, and functionality (excluding Your Content) are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for your own personal or business relationship management, subject to these Terms.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy & Data. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Services, with notice where reasonably practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends immediately; see our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data after account deletion.

10. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, heybuddy and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100 if you were on the Free plan.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by a revised "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice, such as an in-app notice or email. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which heybuddy is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

15. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@hey-buddy.io or via hey-buddy.io/contact.
